The Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme was established in memory of the Late Anundoram Borooah, the fourth Indian (and the first Assamese) to join the coveted ICS and the first Indian to be appointed as Deputy Commissioner. The Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme short ARBAS was launched by the government of Assam in 2005 to improve education through competition among students through the ARBAS plan, and students were also encouraged as a result of this award scheme. This scheme is one of the most successful and free of corruption schemes, inspiring many students to do well in their HSLC examinations. Eligibility Criteria of Anundoram Borooah Award

Educational Qualification & Percentage: Students with Star Marks or 75% or more in the HSLC, Higher Madrassa, and FM Examinations conducted by SEBA and the State Madrassa Education Board of Assam are eligible to apply for this scheme.

Passing Year: The student must pass his or her qualifying examination with the specified percentage in 2023.

Name of Board: Only students who have completed their qualifying examinations from the SEBA and the State Madrassa Education Board of Assam can apply for this ARBAS scheme.

What is ARBAS Laptop Award Scheme

This scheme is only for Assamese students who have completed their tenth-class examinations through the SEBA and the State Madrassa Education Board of Assam. The minimum qualifying scores for this award scheme have been raised from 60% to 75% as of 2017. To be eligible for the ARBAS scheme, students must now obtain a minimum of 75% in their qualifying exams.

Award Value: Instead of awarding laptops to all qualified students, the government will transfer a predetermined quantity. The government has agreed to transfer Rs.16,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Thousand Only) to each eligible student who excelled in the class 10th exams.

Date of Award Distribution: As of currently, no date for prize distribution has been set by the relevant department.
