GU provides a wide choice of postgraduate (PG) programs in 57 different disciplines in the arts, science and technology, law, commerce, and management. The university has 49 postgraduate departments, linked colleges, and independent institutes. Gauhati University holds an entrance exam called the Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) every year to identify meritorious individuals for admission to various postgraduate courses. Eligibility Criteria of GU PG Admission

Gauhati University will accept Post Graduate Entrance Test, 2023 applications through the official online application portal. Students who fulfill the following eligibility conditions and want to pursue their postgraduate program at Gauhati University can apply online through the GU portal.

✅ MA and MSc Courses

To get admission to Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc), a student must possess any one of the qualifications listed below.

• BA / BSc in the 10+2+3 pattern with Major/ Honours in the concerned subject.
• BCom in the 10+2+3 pattern with at least 45% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in aggregate in the General Course.

Note: 45% marks will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in Part-I & II for courses in 2+1-pattern and on the basis of marks obtained in Part I, II, & III in case of 1+1+1 pattern.

✅ MCom Course

To get admission to the Master of Commerce (MCom), a student must possess any one of the qualifications listed below.

• BCom in the 10+2+3 pattern with Major course.
• BA/ BSc in the 10+2+3 pattern with General/ Pass Course subjects with at least 45% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in the concerned subject.

Application Fee GU PG Admission

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable Rs.400/- as an application fee to complete their application for the Post Graduate Entrance Test to be conducted by Gauhati University. Payment of the application fee is to be done through the online mode of payment.

How to Apply for GU PG Admission?

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online for admission to Gauhati University’s two-year postgraduate program through the official GU portal. According to the official announcement, online application submission will be starting on June 5, 2023. To complete their admission application, students must go to Gauhati University’s official website. GU PG Entrance Test Admit Card 2023

Students who apply for the Gauhati University Post Graduate Entrance Test 2023 must download their admit card from the official website. The admit card is a required download to participate in GUPET-2023; without it, no student will be permitted to enter the examination location.
