Indian Oil Corporation Limited has released an official admission notification for the B.Sc (Nursing) And GNM Course for the Academic session 2023-2024 at Assam Oil College of Nursing and GNM Course at Assam Oil School of Nursing at IOCL (AOD), Digboi. Female Candidates who have passed Class 12th in Science can apply online for the IOCL Nursing Admission from 30th June 2023 through the IOCL portal.

IOCL Nursing Exam Admit 2023

All candidates who registered for admission to the GNM course at Assam Oil School of Nursing are hereby notified that the written exam will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Digboi. The exam will last two hours (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.), and candidates must arrive 45 minutes before the commencement of the Written Test. From 7:30 AM onwards, bus services will be offered from India Club, Near Refinery Main Gate, Digboi to the test venue (DPS, Carmel School, AOSN & AOCN). Eligibility Criteria of IOCL Nursing Admission

Educational Qualification: 

✅ B.Sc Nursing: 

HSSLC (i.e 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English Core/English Elective with a minimum aggregate of 50% Marks for General/EWS/OBC category and 45% Marks for SC/ST/PwBD category. The qualification should be from a Government recognized board under AHSEC/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent boards. 

✅ GNM:

a) 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.

b) 10+ 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.

c) 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent Board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.

d) 10+2 vocational Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) under CBSE Board or other equivalent Board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.

e) Registered as Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) with passing marks from State Nursing Registration Council.

Gender: Only unmarried female candidates can apply for this course.

Age Limit: The candidate’s age Minimum of 17 and maximum age of 24 as of December 31, 2023 (age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates per presidential directives). The sole acceptable document in support of proof of age is a marksheet / certificate issued by a Board of Secondary Education for passing the Matriculation (Class-X) examination.

Selection Process of IOCL Nursing Course

The General Nursing & Midwifery Course (GNM) selection procedure would be based on a written test with the following specifications.

Duration of exam: 120 Minutes

Total marks: 85

Date of exam: 13th November 2022 (Tentative)

Qualifying marks: 40% Marks (relaxable by 5% for candidates from SC/ST/PwBD categories).

Obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written test does not confer any right or claim on the candidate for being shortlisted for document verification or final selection, as the same is based on the candidate’s rank in the merit list based on marks obtained in the Written test, number of seats, candidates meeting the notified eligibility criteria, and documents found in order upon verification, among other factors. 

Candidates for the B.Sc Nursing program will be selected depending on their Common Entrance Examination (CEE-2023) Roll No. and total marks acquired in the CEE-2023 organized by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati.

IOCL Nursing Admission Stipend and Training Details

B. Sc (Nursing): The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated stipend per month for 1st year – Rs. 2,800/-; 2nd year – Rs. 3,000/-; 3rd year – Rs. 3,200/-; and for 4th year – Rs. 3,400/- 

GNM: The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated stipend per month for 1st year – Rs. 2,500/-; 2nd year – Rs. 2,700/-; 3rd year – Rs. 2,900/-.

Additional benefits/opportunities for both BSc (N) & GNM courses:

# Free hostel accommodation, medical attention for self at AOD Hospital, and uniform will be provided to all selected candidates. Selected candidates will be required to stay in the Nursing College hostel only.

# After passing out from respective courses, the candidates will be engaged compulsory for a period of 1 (one) year as working interns at AOD Hospital or in any of the other hospitals of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. This may be extendable by maximum of 2 (two) years at the sole discretion of IOCL (AOD). The working interns shall be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 15,250/- per month for GNM and Rs. 16,250/- per month for BSc (N) at AOD Hospital and shall be paid an additional amount of Rs. 1,000/- per month if they are placed at other hospitals of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, other than at AOD hospital. During the period while they are engaged as working interns, they shall not be provided with the accommodation facility.
