NMMS Exam 2023 – National Means Cum Merit Scholarship

The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has announced an official notification regarding the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination, 2023. Students who are studying in class VIII are eligible for the NMMS exam. The examination will be held from 18th November 2023 in the state of Assam sponsored by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Eligibility Criteria of the NMMS Exam

Class: Students who are studying in class VIII are eligible for the NMMS exam.

School Type: Only the students of Government and Provincialised schools under the Department of School Education, Government of Assam are eligible to get the scholarship. Students from Private schools, JNVs and KVs may appear in the examination, but they will not be selected for the scholarship.

Scholarship Details of the NMMS Scheme

Students who are found qualified in the NMMS exam will get a scholarship of Rs.12,000/- per year during classes IX, X, XI and XII. Note that the income of the parents of the student should not exceed 3.5 lakhs per annum as per the norms of the Ministry of Education to avail of the scholarship benefits.

Examination Fee of NMMS Exam

Candidates have to pay the examination fee to complete their online application process, the fee may vary according to the reservation category of the candidates. The complete details regarding the fee are given below.

Payment Method: Candidates are able to pay their examination fees through the online payment gateway. Candidates should have any of the following options to make the payment – ​​Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.

How to Apply for NMMS Exam?

Students who fulfil all required eligibility criteria as per the advertisement details and want to participate in the NMMS exam have to submit their application through the official web portal or mobile app of DSE, Assam. Students may follow the following steps.

1️⃣ Scroll down, and check the Important Link section.

2️⃣ Click on the Online Application Link.

3️⃣ Now, an official web portal will load in the new tab of your browser.

4️⃣ In that portal, you will see instructions for the application process.

5️⃣ Read all the instructions properly and click the Next button.

6️⃣ Now, you will be redirected to the application form page.

7️⃣ On that page, you have to provide all your asked details.

8️⃣ After that, you have to upload your photograph, signature and declaration form.

9️⃣ Now, you have to pay the examination fee.

🔟 After successful payment, your application will be submitted.

✅ Also, you will receive an acknowledgement copy of your submission. Keep that acknowledgement copy for future use.
