SAMARTH Admission Portal – Online College Admission Portal

Directorate of Higher Education, Assam has established a new portal known as SAMARTH. On June 14, 2023, the Education Minister of Assam unveiled the SAMARTH Admission Portal. SAMARTH Admission platform is an Assam single application platform where students can apply online for undergraduate courses. Students who have cleared the AHSEC Result can use this portal to apply for courses such as BA, BCom, and BSc. Previously, the Government of Assam made a similar move for higher secondary first-year admission by developing the DARPAN portal.

It is important for all students to be aware that in certain colleges, they are required to register on the college’s portal as well. Once students have submitted their applications through the SAMARTH portal, they may need to complete the registration process on the respective college’s portal in order to secure their admission.

How to Apply for College Admission?

Students who have passed their HS final exam or equivalent can use the SAMARTH Online Admission Portal to apply for admission to colleges and universities in Assam. Please keep in mind that admission applications will be accepted through the SAMARTH Portal, but actual admission will take place in the college. Students must submit online applications using the SAMARTH portal, following which merit lists will be issued and students must visit their respective institutes to take admission. Our users can submit an online application for admission to undergraduate courses by following the steps mentioned below.

Step to SAMARTH UG Admission 

1. Scroll down to the Important Link section.
2. Click on the Online Application Link.
3. Now, an official web portal will load in the new tab of your browser.
4. Register yourself on the SAMARTH portal and upload your documents.
5. After successful completion of the above steps, your application will be submitted.
6. Take a printout of the acknowledgment form.

Applicants who are permanent residents of Assam must select “Yes” to the “Do you have domicile of Assam?” question and are required to upload one of the specified documents in the PRC field. This change is mandatory.

Fee Waiver Scheme in Assam

Students should be aware that the well-known fee waiver scheme of the Government of Assam will only be available to students who apply through the SAMARTH Admission Portal. According to the official statement, the Assam Government’s fee waiver scheme will be connected to SAMARTH. As a result, only students who apply through the SAMARTH platform will be eligible for fee waivers. We strongly advise all students to use the SAMARTH online admission site to apply for admission to Assam’s numerous institutions and universities.

About SAMARTH Admission Portal

The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam developed the SAMARTH online admission portal. The SAMARTH Online Admission Portal will be used to accept applications for undergraduate (UG) admission to various institutions and universities in Assam. This will eliminate the need for students to submit separate applications to multiple colleges. Students will be able to apply for admission to a maximum of ten institutes using the portal. It will also address the overlapping issue by enabling each student to register in only one institute. Similarly, this platform would assist organizations and governments in directly implementing numerous assistance initiatives.
