State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Assam has released an official notification for admission to the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). SCERT has invited eligible students to apply online for the Diploma in Elementary Education Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2023. Candidates who are eligible according to the official admission notification can submit their online applications for SCERT Assam D.El.Ed Admission before 14th August 2023.

Name of the Exam: Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2023

Name of Course: Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

No of Seats: 3,300 seats (Government).

Name of Batch: 2023-2025

Tenure of Course: 2 Years

Eligibility Criteria for D.El.Ed Admission

Educational Qualification: The applicant must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination from recognised Boards/Councils with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST category there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate).

Age Limit: The applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July 2023. There will be a relaxation of 2 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST (P) and ST (H) categories.

Reservation: Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), and Person with Disability (PWD) will be as per the Reservation Policy.

Application Fee: Rs.600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for all categories to be paid online (Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Wallet).

Admit Card: Candidates will be able to download their Admit Cards from SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET Admit Card through the SCERT official website beginning September 1st, 2023, by entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth generated during online application submission.

Pre-Entry Test (PET) Venue: The Pre-Entry Test (PET) venue will be assigned in the District specified by the candidates during the application form submission, as noted on the candidates’ ADMIT card. The shortlisted candidates will be assigned seats in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEls) of the District in which they want to take the Pre-Entry Test (PET).

As per the official advertisement details, Interested candidates should have to apply online through the SCERT website https://scertpet.co.in/. Submit the online application before 14th August 2023. Candidates can follow the following steps to complete their application process.

2️⃣ Click on the Online Application Link.

3️⃣ Now, an official web portal will load in the new tab of your browser.

4️⃣ In that portal, you will get the option to register yourself.

5️⃣ After registration, you have to provide all your asked details.

6️⃣ After that, you have to upload your documents.

7️⃣ Now, you have to pay the examination fee.

8️⃣ After successful payment, your application will be submitted.

9️⃣ Also, you will receive an acknowledgement copy of your submission.

✅ Keep that acknowledgement copy for future use.

Syllabus of D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test

The State Educational Research and Training Council will administer an examination to identify qualified students for admission to the two-year elementary education diploma programme. We have published the PET exam curriculum in this area for the convenience of our website users and applicants for this exam.

The test will have two sections, Section I and Section II. The question pattern and marking according to these sections will be as follows.

Total Marks: 100 Marks

Total Time: 2 Hours

Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Number of Questions: 100 Questions

Negative Marking: For every incorrect answer, a 0.25 mark shall be deducted from the total marks secured by the candidate. More than one answer given to a question will be treated as an incorrect answer.

✅ General English: vocabulary, tenses, verbs, prepositions, comprehension, voice change, narration, adverbs, synonyms, antonyms.

✅ General Knowledge: Current affairs, who is who, abbreviations, constitution of India, History of Assam, Inventions and discoveries, Sports. Art and culture, Every day Science, World Organizations, Geography of India, Educational Commissions and Committees, New Educational Initiatives, and Educational Organizations.

Reasoning: Logical and analytical reasoning, pattern etc.
